Split PDF

AADDYY’s Split PDF cuts one PDF into smaller files, right in your browser. Type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-, split every few pages, or tap the pages you want in the preview. Download the parts as a ZIP, or the chosen pages as one PDF. It’s free, and your file never leaves your device.

How it works.

  1. Add your PDF

Drop a PDF onto the page or choose it from your device. Its pages appear as small previews, drawn on your device.

  2. Choose how to split

Type page ranges, set a number of pages per file, or tap the pages you want. Each preview shows which new file its page goes into.

  3. Split and download

Select Split. Each part is saved as its own PDF and they download together as a ZIP, or the pages you picked come as one PDF.

Options, explained.

Ranges
Each part you type becomes its own PDF: 1-3, 5, 8- gives three files. 8- runs to the last page and 5-3 reverses the order. Choose One PDF to put all the parts into a single file instead.
Every N pages
Cuts the document into files of the same length: 1 gives one PDF per page, 2 gives pairs, and the last file holds whatever is left over.
Pick pages
Tap pages in the preview, or use All, Odd or Even; with a mouse, Shift-click selects a run. Save them as one PDF in page order, or as one PDF per page.
What’s kept
Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Links between the pages you keep still work and hidden layers stay hidden, and nothing from the other pages is copied in. Bookmarks aren’t carried over, and form fields keep what was filled in but can no longer be edited.

Private by design.

Split PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your files are read into this tab’s memory, processed by code running on your device and saved straight back to it. Nothing is uploaded, so there’s no queue to wait in and nothing to delete afterwards.

Like the rest of AADDYY, this page counts visits with analytics. The tool area is hidden from session recordings, and usage events record only counts and sizes, never file names or contents.

Questions.

Is Split PDF free?

Yes. There’s no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark on the files you get.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the file, draws the previews and builds the new PDFs on your device. No file data is sent to AADDYY or anyone else.

How do I extract only some pages?

Choose Pick pages and tap the pages you want, or type them as a range such as 2-4, 9 and choose One PDF. You get a new PDF with only those pages, with nothing from the others hidden inside it; your original file isn’t changed.

How do I split a PDF into single pages?

Choose Every N and leave Pages per file at 1. Each page becomes its own PDF, and they download together as a ZIP.

Will the split files lose quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-compressing, so text stays sharp and selectable and images keep their resolution.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Yes, if you know the password. Enter it when asked; it’s used only in your browser, and the new files have no password.

Why are the parts bigger than I expected?

Each part keeps the fonts and images its pages use, so parts that share a font each carry a copy. To make the parts smaller, run them through Compress PDF.

Is anything lost when I split a PDF?

Every page keeps its text, images and links; a link to a page that isn’t in the new file is removed. Bookmarks aren’t copied into the parts, and form fields keep what was filled in but can no longer be edited, so fill in forms first.
